Arvig Donates to Hubbard County 4-H Riders Club and the City of Twin Valley; Donations Total $15,000 with Matching Grants from CoBank
Kelly Etzler, a Plow Crew Lead at Arvig, presented a check for $3,750 from Arvig to the Hubbard County 4-H Riders Club and Shelly Brevik, a Residential Sales Consultant at Arvig, presented a check for $3,750 from Arvig to The City of Twin Valley earlier this month.
Each donation was doubled via matching funds from Arvig’s lender, CoBank, through its “Sharing Success” charitable program, bringing the total of donated funds to $15,000. The Hubbard County 4-H Riders Club will be using the funds for new, galvanized steel horse stalls at the fairgrounds. In Twin Valley, the money will go toward the construction of the Twin Valley Splash Park.
Both organizations are causes Arvig employees are passionate about. “My kids are a part of 4-H Riders and they love being a part of this organization,” Etzler said. “Adding the stalls will ensure safety for the kids, animals and all others involved so that they can continue to enjoy this great opportunity.”
“As an employee of Arvig and the President of the Twin Valley Community Club, I am pleased to have been able to nominate the Twin Valley Splash Park project for funding. The Splash Park will be a huge asset to our small community and the surrounding area,” said Brevik. “Recreational facilities like this are instrumental in keeping and attracting more families to our community.”
“Because our employees live and work in the towns we serve, we often learn of opportunities to make a difference from them directly,” said David Arivg, Chief Operating Officer at Arvig. “Without their active involvement in programs like the Hubbard County 4-H and Twin Valley Community Club, we wouldn’t know about important opportunities for impact like these to nominate for CoBank Grants. We are honored to partner with our employees to support the causes they care about.”
Since 2012, the “Sharing Success” grant program has celebrated the vital role that local businesses play in communities across the United States. Each year, the lender asks its customers to nominate non-profit organizations for matching grants, ranging from $500 to $7,500. The donation is matched by CoBank as part of its mission to make a positive difference in rural America. In 2018, Empowering Kids of Perham, St. Henry’s Area School and TR 4 Heart and Soul of Bismarck, ND, received funds from the Sharing Success program via Arvig.
